A Conversation on Evaluation in Ontario’s Youth Sector

This webinar was hosted by YouthREX, in partnership with the Youth Opportunities Fund at Ontario Trillium Foundation.

HERE’S HOW THE HOSTS DESCRIBE THIS WEBINAR:

So often, we hear folks say, “Ugh, we hate evaluation!”, and we understand why! Evaluation can feel confusing, like extra work, disconnected from supporting youth and driven by misplaced accountability. But it doesn’t have to be this way!

YouthREX, in collaboration with the Youth Opportunities Fund at Ontario Trillium Foundation, was excited to host this conversation about evaluation as a core strategy that youth programs can leverage to maximize their impact.

The webinar brought together a panel from diverse backgrounds for a conversation on what works in evaluation, what needs to be improved, and what the future of evaluation looks like for the youth-serving sector.

Our guests included Jasmine Noureddin, Lead, Program Evaluator, Youth Opportunities Fund, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Trevlyn Kennedy, Manager, Children & Youth Services, BLOCK Project, Dixon Hall, and Marissa Birkett, Education Outreach Coordinator, Aspire for Higher Sports, with Caroline Hummell and Adrienne Young from YouthREX’s Customized Evaluation Team, in a conversation on how to build in learning from and through evaluation into the culture of a youth program – and how to draw on your knowledge, experience, and data to leverage evaluation to support better youth outcomes.
